THE HAMER HALL REDEVELOPMENT The Hamer Hall, part of The Arts Centre, is undergoing a $128.5 million redevelopment that will make the facility even more accessible and provide an even better experience for audiences, ensuring that it can continue to attract and present a wide range of top international and local performers.
The project will also provide a nearby cultural precinct where Melburnians and visitors can experience some of the best arts and cultural activities in Australia. The redevelopment is the first stage of the Southbank Cultural Precinct Redevelopment, and aims to deliver an increased cultural presence for Melbourne by enhancing public connectivity and accessibility, linking Melbourne’s major arts venues via a new urban space, and providing exceptional amenities for the general public and the growing residential population.
Guild augments the existing art and cultural attractions of the area through its own artistic values. These include a series of exclusive ‘art-incubators’ which line the building’s main thoroughfare that is set to feature the work of new and emerging local talent, and a huge exterior work currently being selected from a list of prominent Melbourne artists.
